Who are Haiboxing?

Haiboxing is a Chinese RC maker based in Shantou, Guangdong, and has been producing hobby-style cars for well over a decade. You will see the same cars sold as HBX, Haiboxing or both. The range is built around 1/16 and 1/12 4WD truggies with metal drivetrain parts, plus a larger 1/10 brushless model.

Compared with WLtoys or MJX, HBX leans towards truggy designs: big tyres, wide stance and a bit more ground clearance. That suits grass and gravel better than a low buggy, at the cost of some top speed on tarmac.

Also worth a look: the 2105A with sand paddle tyres, currently from £65.99, for anyone who wants to play on the beach. Paddles are poor on hard ground, so it is a specialist choice rather than an all-rounder.

What to buy

For a beginner or a younger teenager, the brushed 903 Vanguard is the sensible pick. Brushed motors are gentler and the 1/12 size handles a typical garden. If you already know you want speed, the 16890A gives you brushless power for under £100, though at 1/16 it is happier on short grass than long. Read brushed vs brushless if you are weighing up the two.

Pay the extra for the 2996A if you have more space. At 1/10 it rolls over bumps that stop the smaller cars. The RC car scales guide explains why size matters so much off-road.

Batteries and spares

Most HBX brushless models come with a 7.4V LiPo, which needs careful charging and storage; our batteries and chargers guide covers the basics. We do not currently list a Haiboxing spares range, so if replacement parts matter to you, consider a brand with UK spares on the shelf such as UDI RC or FTX, or contact us before you buy.

Every HBX car here ships from UK stock, with free delivery on orders over £129.99. Pre-order models are clearly marked.

Haiboxing questions

Is HBX the same as Haiboxing?
Yes. HBX is the badge Haiboxing uses on its cars, and listings often use both names.
Do Haiboxing cars come ready to run?
Yes. The models we stock include the car, a 2.4GHz transmitter, a battery and a charger. You may need AA batteries for the transmitter.
Can I get Haiboxing spare parts in the UK?
We do not currently stock a Haiboxing parts range. If spares are a priority, ask us before ordering or look at a brand with UK parts support.
Which HBX is fastest?
Of the models we stock, the 2105A is quoted at 50km/h and several brushless models at 45km/h. The 2996A is the largest, which makes it the most usable at speed on rough ground.
