Service & Repair

A proper workshop service for your electric or nitro RC car, truck or buggy. You post it to us, and we strip it down, clean it, service the shocks and inspect it. It comes back with photos and videos of every job. The £29.99 service charge covers the workshop service. The delivery charge you pay at checkout is your insured return postage.

Can we service your model?

We service electric and nitro models from any brand we stock, because we hold the parts to quote accurately and finish the job quickly. Other brands are considered on request. Just ask before you order.

What the £29.99 service includes

• Electronics removed - the ESC, receiver, servo and motor come out so the chassis can be cleaned properly
• Full strip-down and clean - dirt, grit and old grease removed from the chassis, suspension and drivetrain
• Shock service - shocks stripped, cleaned, re-lubricated and rebuilt
• Differential inspection - every diff checked for wear, leaks and damage
• Breakage inspection - arms, hubs, driveshafts, bearings, gears and mounts checked for cracks, play and wear
• An itemised parts and labour quote before any further work is done
• Photos and videos of the work, so you have proof it was done properly

Optional extra work

• Full differential rebuild - £30 labour + parts. Covers all the diffs on the car: stripped, fluid replaced and any damage repaired.
• Full bearing replacement - £30 labour + parts. This needs a complete disassembly of the car.
• Race-spec diff fluids - tell us the weights you want when we rebuild your diffs. Fluids are charged at our normal prices.
• Upgrade and custom parts - fitted while the car is stripped down. Parts are charged at our normal prices, and any labour is shown in your quote.

Replacement parts and extra labour are only charged after you approve the quote. Postage from you to us is not included.

How it works

1. Order this service. The checkout delivery charge is your insured return postage.
2. Email us photos first. Send clear photos of the whole model, the underside and any damage to customerservices@radio-controlled.co.uk, with your order number. We'll confirm we can take it on before you post anything, so you don't waste postage.
3. Post your model to us once we've confirmed. Use a signed-for, tracked and insured service.
4. We strip, clean, service and inspect it, then send you a parts list of what we recommend replacing and any extra labour, itemised.
5. You approve and pay the extra invoice. Nothing extra is done or charged without your go-ahead.
6. We do the work, photographing and filming each stage.
7. We post it back on the insured service you paid for at checkout.

Turnaround: typically 7 days from arrival. Timings can vary with the work needed and while we wait for your quote approval.

• Postage to us is your responsibility. Always use a signed-for, tracked, insured service.
• Remove all batteries, especially LiPos, and pack the model securely in a padded box.
• Put a note inside with your order number, name and any faults you've noticed.

If you decide not to go ahead

If you don't want the extra work in your quote, we reassemble your model and post it back using the return postage you've already paid. The service charge covers the strip-down, clean, shock service and inspection already carried out.
